ETSY is an online marketplace made up of 1+ million shops. The information you provide to Etsy for transaction purposes is governed and stored by Etsy.

As a seller on Etsy, I am bound to their policies.

As such, I only use customer information to fulfill orders. Your personal information (name, address and if applicable phone number) as provided to me via Etsy will only be used by me as needed to complete your order.

If and when required, I will communicate with you about your order status using the Etsy messaging platform.

I have no access to your payment account details. Etsy Payments and PayPal process your financial information independently of me. Your transaction information will be stored on the Etsy system as long as I have my store on Etsy or until Etsy deletes it. I will not spam you or solicit you using the information provided to me.

Furthermore:

I MAY use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support.

I MAY collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to:

(a) respond to legal process or to government requests (i.e. taxes)

(b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies;

(c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or

(d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers or others.

When you leave a comment or submit a contact form on our site, we collect your comment or message as well as your IP address and browser user agent string. This helps our network sort your input from the spam of hundreds of despicable people. At the time of commenting, a tiny bit of data (a cookie) is dropped so that our site recognizes you the next time you visit. Our cookies expire annually.

Regarding “comments” and “media”: Based on your email address, your photo may show beside your comment if we are using a spam protection program that recognizes your email/IP combination. In this instance, TinkerTags does not possess or store your photo.

When you share photos with TinkerTags, please ensure embedded location data (EXIF GPS) is not included in the image tag.

(ALL GEEK TO YOU? We will do our best to wipe that data from your image. WHY? Viewers can extract location data from images you’ve posted online. We want to keep both your human and your furry family, safe.)

Due to the nature of our work, you may provide us with your name, or initials (bracelets, rings, pendants, etc.), phone number (pet identification tags), and mailing address (it’s how we get stuff to you). At other times you might want to order jewelry with a birth date, or GPS co-ordinates.

This is ALL sensitive data. As such, it is important that you know what happens to your information, once you have provided it to us.

For starters, we make your product and mail it to the address you have provided. After this, any paper item that contained your name and address or any other personal information, is locked away and shredded when tax law dictates.

The email that was submitted with your order is then deleted off the server. (Remember though, our site will remember your device for a full year after your visit. This does not mean that your sensitive data still exists on the server.)

PayPal (our third party and trusted payment processing partner) will retain your invoice and receipt.

If you have left comments or submitted a contact form on TinkerTags, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Even though TinkerTags is a secure site, (noted by the closed padlock in your browser bar as well as the “https” precursor on our links), we do not collect or process credit card numbers or telephone numbers.

All online payments are collected off-site at our highly trusted partners’ secure and encrypted web forms. (Again, look for the https and a padlock or key icon in the upper or lower corner of your browser window.

Our site fully complies with the CAN-SPAM Act.

We do not link your IP address to any personal information about you, share your information with any third parties, or send unsolicited email.
